Back to Birds!

I started working at the Division of Birds at Smithsonian from few weeks ago after finishing beetle illustration project. So, back to birds! I have been drawing "interesting" feathers for a Postdoc fellow who is studying the evolution and development of morphological diversity in feathers. She has everything... being surrounded by 640,000 bird specimen and having super high resolution photographs and micro CT scans, yet she knows those are not enough materials to make a good "communication" in her research paper. Then she happened to find me and decided to use some of her research funding to order a traditional scientific illustration, which is pen & ink on drafting film! GOOD FOR HER!!
