Smithsonian Fish Illustration

Besides working for the Division of Birds of Smithsonian, I have been drawing fishes for the Division of Fishes. Like ornithologists care of the size of the beaks or the number of feathers, ichthyologists care of the size of the fins or the number of scales, rays, and spines. I was very fortunate to work with ichthyologists who gave me very detailed feedback. It took many iterations to finalize the illustrations, but now I know much of fish anatomy and I feel more confident to draw fishes :)
